Recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Professor Liu‘s research focuses on tissue engineering and stem cell differentiation, biosensing and in vitro diagnostics, as well as optoelectronic functional materials and nano energy. Since 2004, he has published over 400 SCI papers in journals such as Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., and J. Am. Chem. Soc., with more than 34,000 citations and an H-index of 85. Over 40 of his papers have been recognized as Highly Cited Papers by Web of Science. From 2018 to 2023, he was named a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate. He is also the founding Editor-in-Chief of BMEMat (Biomedical Engineering Materials). Professor Liu holds more than 40 patents, with successful technology transfers in micro/nano biosensors and artificial crystals. In 2019, he received the First Prize of the Shandong Provincial Natural Science Award.
